5 /5 Baljeet: The quick summary is that I can highly recommend this Indian restaurant and it is definitely worth a visit.
My friends and I (all Indian)visited Koyal after a recommendation from a friend who enjoys his food. We went on a Tuesday evening and even then it was still fairly busy. The pickle and sauces we had with our poppadums were great and our starters consisting of lamb chops, kebabs and Murg Malai Tikka chicken was quite delicious.
For the mains you have to order their Muntjac Dum Biryani (deer meat), and that tasted wonderful. Their Khatte Meethe Baingan (aubergine) is also recommended and everything was also cooked and spiced just right with a good level of heat.
We had some other dishes too, all of which were great.
For me, their lamb chops (ordered per individual chop) and the biryani were favourites, but I can’t fault any of their food.
I also understand the chef may be a part owner of the business, in which case there’s even more of a vested interest from the kitchen to make sure the food stands out - which it does!
Drinks wise, I had their IPA which is surprisingly good. I say that as someone who doesn’t usually have IPAs.
I would happily come back to this place again and wholeheartedly recommend it.
