4 /5 Olyden Johnson: La Vacherin Review Outstanding Restaurant but……… We had a wonderful evening at La Vacherin. Its easy to see why the reviews are outstanding. The chef and the food quality was superb. You are now wondering why I have given 4 stars and not 5. It seems La Vacherin maybe excellent with couples and small groups. But on this occasion seemed to struggle with our larger group. Dispite us all Pre-ordering our choices, there was a long wait for our mains. Unfortunately, some people had almost finished the main part of their Meal by the time the sides arrived. This is an error inconsistent with the food quality, ambience and reputation of this restaurant. This is an issue i find often in good restaurants. The chef is obviously first class. But its a struggle for restaurant to match the very high food quality in other areas or aspects of the restaurant. The staff seemed a little nervous and did not smile often. This can sometimes be an indication of how they are treated behind the scenes. ‘Happy Staff Happy Customers’ I would certainly recommend. As I am certain they will have improved by the time you visit.

The service is attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance for a relaxed and special evening. A true cherry on the cake is the presence of the General Manager, Marco Cristaldi. His professionalism, warmth, and masterful hosting skills elevate the entire experience. His visible passion for the restaurant makes a significant difference.
