3 /5 Rob Prince: Friendly staff and owner. We had the introduction menu (a reduced menu) and this review is written to be constructive and I wish this new business all the best.
My first comment would be that I did not see many Pakistani dishes on the menu. My favorites normally include Chapli kebab, Nihari (lamb shank) , haleem, murgh cholay, charsi chicken and samosa chaat. Sadly non of these dishes were on the menu. They did however have Biryani and Karahi which we ordered.
The Biryani was tasty and well spiced, but was described as King Prawn Biryani, yet I did not get a single king prawn, just a few tiny little prawns that were a bit rubbery (not what was expected). The chicken Karahi was nice, but was more like butter chicken than a traditional Karahi and was very mild and not heavily spiced (as I have had before in Pakistani restaurants). The portion was also a little small, only half filling the container.
We also had the mix grill meats, which was tasty and had some nice flavors, plus a garlic nahn which was also good, but a little on the small side, as was the salad (mostly raw onions) that came with the grilled meats. The restaurant itself is small, so we chose for a take away. We also thought it would be helpful for them to add to the menu how hot/spicy each dish is and whats included in dishes like the mixed grill, which is currently missing.
We will certainly visit again and give them another try, but at the moment its not quite found its roots. Good Luck.
