4 /5 AL T: Whatever it says on Google, this chippy isn’t open every weekday with much safer bets on weekends. On a sunny day with events on Madeira Drive (like today), it is a GREAT place to perch yourself, watch the action roll by over some Fish (or Scampi) & Chips. We ordered two large F&C (£11 each). Though a tad oily, it was a lovely piece of haddock: meaty, coated in a light and very crispy batter.
You get your usual sachet condiments e.g. malt vinegar, mayo, ketchup etceteras. I did wonder why the guy on the next table picked his fish with his hands and chomped away much like a sandwich. It figures: you will get a flimsy wooden fork with your order, no knife nor, spoon. Despite this, still the best Fish & Chips amongst the few on that little stretch.
