1 /5 Anita Rai: We recently visited Malinggo and had a really disappointing experience. There was one person at the counter who was talking loudly on the phone almost the entire time we were there. He even lowered the TV volume ,we were watching Nepali songs — just so he could continue his phone conversation. It felt quite unprofessional.
The food wasn’t great either. We ordered a khaja set, but the soybeans were shaggy and didn’t taste fresh. We also ordered jhol pork momo, but the jhol was spoiled and smelled bad . We didn’t complain about the soybeans, but the jhol momo was just too much to ignore.
When we raised the issue, we could hear the kitchen staff getting furious, loudly insisting that it wasn’t smelly which we can clearly hear from our table. That kind of reaction didn’t feel professional at all. Eventually, they did accept their fault and didn’t charge us for the jhol momo, which we appreciated.
Unfortunately, this experience has really changed our opinion about Malingo. This used to be our go-to spot whenever we visited Aldershot, but after this visit, we won’t be going there anymore. I wouldn’t be recommending this restaurant to others.
