5 /5 Sean Chiang: Marilucia is a pleasant restaurant with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, though my experience was a bit mixed overall. I came here for dinner and tried a few dishes – the pizza and starter were both decent, nicely presented and tasty enough, though not outstanding. The ingredients seemed fresh and the crust was well done. I also ordered the Funghi Cocotte, which had good flavour but turned out to be extremely spicy – much more than I expected for a mushroom dish. If you’re sensitive to spice, it’s worth asking before ordering.
One thing I didn’t enjoy as much was the amount of up-selling throughout the meal. While the staff were polite, I felt gently pressured into adding extras that I hadn’t planned on, and the bill ended up about 50% higher than I expected. It would be better if the team gave clearer information about prices or optional add-ons in advance.
That said, the service was friendly, the ambience was pleasant, and it’s still a nice place for a casual evening out. With a bit more transparency and balance, Marilucia could easily be a solid five-star spot. For now, I’d give it four stars for good food but room to improve.
