5 /5 Bobby & Michelle: Visited Masala on Brick Lane and honestly, it delivered. Great atmosphere from the moment we walked in — busy but not chaotic, with friendly staff who actually seemed to care rather than just pushing people through the door.
The food was the star. The pumpkin curry was full of flavour and a brilliant vegetarian option — slightly sweet, well-spiced and properly balanced. The Bombay potatoes were spot on: soft, coated in a rich tomato and spice sauce, with enough heat to keep it interesting without overpowering everything else.
The chef’s “Bollywood Blast” definitely lived up to its name. The naga chilli gave it a distinct, lingering heat that wasn’t just spicy for the sake of it — it had depth and character.
Pilau rice was fragrant, naan was fresh and fluffy, and portions were generous.
For Brick Lane, the prices were very reasonable. Tasty food, good vibes, and we’d happily go back.
