5 /5 Sophia al’Ahmad: I had the absolute pleasure of trying Matheou’s during my stay in the UK this past week, and I truly can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we walked in, the man working was incredibly kind and attentive — he checked on us multiple times and made us feel so welcomed, like we were regulars.
The food? Incredible. Fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot with generous portions. My dad and I both agreed it was our favorite fish and chips of the entire trip — even better than the one we had near Big Ben, which cost twice as much! Matheou’s proves that amazing quality doesn’t have to break the bank.
The atmosphere was great too — clean, comfortable, and with both indoor and outdoor seating. You can really feel the care that goes into both the food and the service. It’s the kind of local spot that absolutely deserves more love.
If I could, I’d cross the Atlantic just to eat here again. SUPPORT LOCAL — Matheou’s is a gem!
