5 /5 Leigh DAgostino: Lancing has little to offer on its decimated high Street, really surprised to find this gem. Walk or drive past and you may think it another of the numerous fast food establishments, if it were not for the potted olive scrubs and lack of garish signage. Empty menu board and welcome mat on the pavement needs a little work as does the door self closer to avoid staff constantly having to close it themselves.
It’s a cool, bright early spring evening on a Thursday in a deserted Lancing. A walk in surely….but no. Having not made a reservation we were lucky to be given the last table. Just. It’s not a large space with approx. 15 tables but was reserved out. Who knew.
Fairly basic and light on the eye interior with robust furniture confuses if it a restaurant or a seaside eatery but probably has to cater to both. It’s Greek food and has no reason to pretend to be with a faux Greek interior.
Menu hits all the spots, simple & straight forward layout with all the booze and juice options you would need. Delighted to have a Mythos.
Ordered chops, Souvlaki & pawn dinners with a couple of starters. It’s packed and informed by the lovely owner of some delay, not a bother, they were moving.
Have not eaten so well in Lancing, extremely good. They know how to cook. Perfect chops, meaty and when grilled, just a little burnt fat edges give it something extra. Souvlaki chunks juicy, Greek salad crisp, lovely, hummus very decent, vine leaves fine. All light, tasty, fresh and Greek.
Family staff, friendly, efficient & faultless. Can hear many other table’s compliments.
Excellent. Really. I’ll come again.
