3 /5 Lap Kun Ho: Wandering around Southampton Town centre and decided to try out this place situated on above bar street.
Stepped into a dark restaurant that was quiet for a weekday lunch, there were a few more customers as I sat eating here. The staff was lovely and the food was piping hot. I went with the current specials, the hot shot meal that included a cluckn hot burger, fries, drink, side (I went with their gravy) and 2wings of fire.
Now immediately I had to compare with the well known competitor just down the road. Pricing is comparable. Bonus for hot food and service with a smile. The breading was crisp and crunchy, flavour wasnt as strong with the southern spicing and it was a little salty on my palate. The chicken portions were much more generous decent amount. The spice in the burger mainly came from some sliced chili which was a nice touch, the wings were good. The gravy had great texture but flavour was a little light and was over powered by the others.
I enjoyed it and I would try again some other items on their menu.
