Alessandra Distefano I loved this space. Great loft vibes. Just opposite the canal with a great outdoor area. The food was great. They accommodate for vegans and gluten free customers. The gluten free pizza was the best I had in London so far. Nice texture and not flat. The fried potato’s were delicious. Super friendly staff. Our waiter Enzo has been really nice, offering us options and describing the dishes in details. I’d definitely come back here next time I’m in the area. Especially on Monday or Tuesday, when they have 2 pizzas for £18 deal.

Kevin Coaker We were wowed by nearby Café Cecilia earlier this year, so were excited to try INIS for our anniversary dinner. For a dark autumn evening, Hackney Wick was surprisingly lively, and the team at INIS kindly found us a spot for a pre-dinner drink when we arrived 45 minutes early. First off, the three staff on duty were absolutely lovely - friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The food was fantastic, with the Irish influence shining through in all the right ways. I had the winter salad, while my wife’s duck starter was just as tempting. My John Dory main was sublime, and the wine list full of interesting options - we chose a lovely Vernaccia from Tuscany. We’re already keen to return to try the Sunday lunch once winter properly sets in.

samirah ali I went to Taco House in Hackney with my friend and it was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. What really stood out was the customer service — the staff were so kind, welcoming, and made us feel really comfortable. Our food came out super quickly and tasted incredible. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and excellent service. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Lauryn Mars I’ve been going to Sapori for about three years now since we moved to London, I’m not a review person, but this place honestly is the best. Tonight there was a mess up with uber and I have to say we got there in the end and I was very happy and full. The steak sandwich is to die for by the way. Just saying. I’m pretty sure it was Joy? (Gioia?) I spoke to on the phone, what a guy. Give him a raise. Hilarious too. Keep smashing it guys. Lots of love xoxoxo

Stacey Staines The best liquor to be found for miles! My favourite place for pie and mash, chilli vinegar is a must. The sweet crumble pies they sell are delicious too. Beautiful interior since the refurb, lovely staff, familiar faces every time I visit. Good value for money for a traditional, hot meal.

The Munch Plug ️ - Tower Hamlets

Lofty Virtues The Munch Plug is the kind of hidden gem that instantly captivates with its unpretentious vibe and indulgent comfort food. The menu is a curated mix of street food classics with a modern twist, each item designed to satisfy cravings at any hour. Food: The highlight of my visit was the Munch Burger, a massive stack of juicy beef, cheese, crispy bacon, and tangy sauce, all sandwiched between perfectly toasted brioche buns. The flavors were well-balanced, with the savory notes of the meat complemented by the slight sweetness of the bun. Every bite was a flavor bomb, but what really stood out was how fresh everything tasted. The loaded fries were another standout — piled high with gooey cheese, jalapeños, and a generous drizzle of spicy mayo. These were not your average fries; they were indulgent, but not overwhelming, offering a perfect crunch to gooey ratio. For a lighter option, I tried the Chicken Caesar Wrap. The chicken was tender, well-seasoned, and the Caesar dressing added just enough tang to make each bite interesting. Ambiance: The vibe at The Munch Plug is casual, with a dash of urban cool. It’s the type of place you’d hit up for a late-night meal or a laid-back dinner with friends. The space is small, but cozy, with hip-hop tracks playing softly in the background and graffiti-inspired decor that adds a street-style charm to the environment. Service: Service was quick and friendly, with the staff clearly passionate about the food they serve. Despite the popularity of the place, orders were prepared promptly, and the staff were more than happy to recommend dishes. Final Thoughts: The Munch Plug is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in delicious, no-frills comfort food. With generous portions, bold flavors, and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s easy to see why it has become a local favorite. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or feasting with friends, The Munch Plug delivers every time. Highly recommend if youre a fan of comfort food done right! Rating: 9/10
