1 /5 Dan Hilton: Nice bar but a girl in our group (who arrived alone) was denied entry for allegedly having a “faulty” drivers license, so we all left. Don’t risk it!
We booked Netil360 for a group of 12. One girl in our party (who is, as we are, 28 years old) arrived slightly later so queued up alone and showed her drivers license to security as usual, but he proceeded to scratch the hologram off the card and assert that this meant it was not a real license. We tried to speak to the manager to explain that this was an old format license, but he already decided that this girl would not be allowed in because she had been rude to security (she had incredulously declared “you’re taking the piss” when he scratched the card). A photo of a passport was also denied. Without wanting to abandon our friend, our entire party left (we’d had 1 round of drinks). Not to worry though: Mare Street Market was right next door and had much friendlier and understanding staff! No problem with other bars in the area either.
Overall a disappointing and completely unexpected experience. Something needs to be done about this obstinate door policy…
