3 /5 NP: We recently visited Nova Park Royal as a family for a children’s event they were hosting, which was a very different experience for us compared to our usual visits. I normally come to Nova in the evenings for shisha, drinks, and entertainment with friends on the weekends, so this was our first daytime visit — and our first time bringing the kids.
The main reason for attending was the Gabby character meet-and-greet, which my children absolutely loved. The venue was set up in a very child-friendly way, with a bouncy castle and ball pit for the younger children, which was a lovely touch. The £5 charge per child to meet the characters felt reasonable, considering the entertainment provided and how excited the kids were.
We were given a set menu, which offered a good variety of starters, mains, and desserts. Unfortunately, the food itself was a bit of a letdown for our family. The flavours were lacking overall, and although I requested my lamb chops to be cooked medium, they arrived quite well done and very chewy, so I couldn’t finish the meal. The gravy was also watery, cold, and lacked flavour. The burger and fries were fairly standard, and the kids’ meals weren’t really enjoyed either.
The drinks were pleasant, but quite heavy on ice, which made them feel a little watered down.
Overall, it was lovely to see Nova catering to families and children, and the effort put into the event itself was appreciated. While I don’t think I’d return for future daytime food events, I would definitely still come back for the evening atmosphere, shisha, and entertainment, which I’ve always enjoyed.
