3 /5 Sam Greenman: I recently dined at Pasha Mangal and unfortunately had a very mixed experience.
The food itself was absolutely excellent and fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully cooked. Every dish we ordered was delicious and really showcased the quality of the kitchen. Compliments to the chefs, as the standard of the food was genuinely impressive.
However, the service was extremely disappointing and overshadowed what could have been a great evening. The elderly server who attended to our table was overbearing and rude throughout our visit. We were rushed to place our order without being given proper time to decide. My friend ordered starters as his main, but they were brought out as starters anyway, which disrupted the meal.
Our plates were cleared before we had even finished eating. At one point, while my friend was in the toilet, she attempted to clear his plate, and when I politely asked her to leave it, she argued rather than apologising. We also ordered Turkish tea, which was served extremely hot, but before we even had a chance to drink it, we were told to leave because other people were waiting for a table.
To make matters worse, we weren’t given adequate time to look over the bill or split it fairly. After spending a considerable amount of money, being rushed out so abruptly made us feel very unwelcome.
It’s a real shame, because the food truly deserves praise, but the service completely let the experience down.
