4 /5 Mrs West: I had such a lovely experience at Pierluigi. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, greeting us at the door and always being available whenever we needed anything. The service really made us feel welcome and well looked after throughout.
The food was fantastic and the portions were very generous. I had the salmon pasta, which was absolutely delicious. For starters, I chose the prawns, and for dessert I had the cheesecake and also tasted the coconut cake. Everything was excellent, and by the end I felt completely full and satisfied. The red wine recommendation was also perfect and paired beautifully with the meal.
I only wish I could remember the staff member’s name to give them a personal shout-out, as they really did a great job.
The only issue we experienced was regarding the water for the table. We had asked for still water and one bottle was brought over. I then requested a large jug of tap water and was told it would be brought once that bottle was finished, although I hadn’t realised I needed to wait before ordering tap water. When additional guests arrived, more bottled water was brought to the table instead of the tap water I had requested. I do understand that restaurants aim to increase sales, however if a guest specifically asks for tap water, I do think that request should be respected. As a table of 13, we had already ordered a significant amount of food, wine and brandy, so it felt a little unnecessary to continue adding bottled water to the bill.
That said, it was still a great experience overall and I would definitely return, hopefully next time to enjoy the live music on a Friday or Saturday evening as we visited on a Sunday late afternoon.
