3 /5 Jane Stuckey: We found the Redroaster just by the Theatre Royal. I can not eat wheat, gluten, dairy, or soya. I explained this to the first waitress, who found another waitress, We then waited 10 more minutes to get menus, as the waitress drifted past us with menus for other customers. We eventually got her attention & managed to order food after 20 minutes. I ordered the steak with salad, as this was about all I could eat safely, my son the chilli crab linguini with fries on the side. We got our "large" pepsis, which were less than half a pint. Mine was only just over half full, as I didnt want ice on a cold day.
The food arrived, but the pepper sauce was in a metal ramakin on the plate, but it contained dairy. I did double-check & I couldnt have it. I had to ask for any dressing on the mixed leaves, no other salad with the steak.
It was disappointing. I ordered a second drink. I watched 3 waitresses chatting for 10 minutes while I waited for my drink. I did catch the waitresses eye eventually & she gave me the look of oh, I forgot your drink. We had finished our food by the time it arrived.
We paid the bill & got to the Theatre on time.
