5 /5 Ana BDM: .Rocky Café in Ashford is my favourite place for breakfast and truly a hidden gem just outside the town centre. From the moment you walk in, you are made to feel welcome. The team are exceptionally friendly, always smiling, and provide attentive table service with impressive efficiency.
The café is spotlessly clean and very well maintained, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Service is quick and well organised — orders are taken promptly and the food arrives without delay, freshly prepared and beautifully presented.
The quality of the food is outstanding. For less than £10, you can enjoy a superb, generously sized breakfast served on a large oval plate. The portions are extremely generous — I sometimes ask for a container to take half home for later. There is also a good selection of vegetarian options, which I greatly appreciate. Considering the quality and portion sizes, the prices represent excellent value for money.
It is worth noting that the café closes at 3pm, as the hardworking ladies who run it also have families to go home to. Unlike some other cafés that stay open later, this one keeps to its hours, so I recommend arriving before 2pm to ensure you have plenty of time to sit back and fully enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace.
My only small suggestion concerns the newspapers available for customers, which are often a few weeks old. It would be lovely to have a few current daily newspapers so customers can catch up on news and sport while waiting for their meals.
Overall, I highly recommend Rocky Café to anyone looking for a hearty, well-priced meal in a welcoming and impeccably clean setting. It consistently delivers excellent food and service.
