What Clients Are Saying Royal Oak - Chingford (GG)
5 /5 Claire Sinclair: Booked for a family celebration of 20 people. Booking easy with updates through the online booking service. Preordered food due to numbers. I was very specific about preferences and dietary needs, all of which were adhered to perfectly. Food was great, generous portions. Service was great also with friendly, attentive staff. Frequent checks to see if any more drinks needed and to check that everything was OK. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended
5 /5 E M: Very kind staff and friendly atmosphere, clean and well kept bathrooms, delicious food - falafel with hummus and lovely halloumi sticks!
5 /5 Mungo Morgan: Went to The Royal Oak, Chingford for Valentine’s Day and had a brilliant evening. The food was really tasty and came out quickly, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed even though it was busy. Huge thanks to our waitress Mel — she was super hospitable, attentive without hovering, and genuinely made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back.
4 /5 Pam Medcraft: We were welcomed quickly and politely by waiter Mete who showed us to our table and served our drinks and took our food order quickly and efficiently.
We didn’t have to wait long for our food which was nicely presented and hot!. We had the Rotisserie chicken and chicken and ribs which were tasty although some of chicken was a little bit dry but forgivable! Chips were ok. Asked if they could make plain green salad as didn’t fancy the posh salad on menu with pomegranate and flax seeds! Kitchen obliged and made a nice fresh green salad. Pub comfortable and nice cosy atmosphere. Music was a bit heavy metal for daytime. Something lighter would ease ear ache ! Like to see more healthier and fresh food offerings on McMullens’ menu instead of fast food heated and served. Drinks are reasonably priced and the service provided by Meta was excellent. Would we return? Yes but as a treat/special occasion as eating out now has become quite expensive not only for diners but also the hospitality sector.
5 /5 ShiZaru zoe: Have visited several pubs in UK but this one is hands down consistently been my favorite thus far. The drinks (guest beers from local Rivertown brewery are always fab) and shaken tales of the cock (cocktails) so fine, the menus of food (especially the brilliant Sunday Roast!) replete, reasonable and always fresh. (rotisserie chicken is the bomb!) Chefs kiss level lovely. The staff is on point & very friendly, (especially delightful for the solo nomad) and the myriad entertainment we’ve attended is quite remarkably well curated! Applause!! Community vibes with comfortable & at home atmosphere. Has been a respite away from the roam. Can highly recommend to any and all seeking a proper pub experience or a good vibe, day or night.
Precious Oghenovo Our regular spot for The tastiest ISI-Ewu! Honestly 10/10 and more! Highly recommended and great service. Very clean and calm environment to eat in!
C Been looking for a decent Indian takeaway for ages and this place hits the spot.
Great prices and value and each curry is full of flavour and tastes different, unlike some other places. The poppadoms are fresh, chops are flavourful and the mushroom rice is light and fluffy (as is the naan).
Update: Great that you can order and pay online now. We’ve ordered several time from Cinnamon, ordering different dishes each time. They’ve all been absolutely delicious with tender meat. It’s amazing value and cannot recommend enough. Absolutely delicious and can’t wait until next time (and the delivery man is nice).
Wenn Er Tan Lucky star has been my go-to takeaway for a year now and hasnt disappointed! The prices are reasonable for the generous portion sizes and the calibre of the chef. Hes always been really accommodating with special requests eg. to switch ingredients. Couldnt recommend the place more!
