1 /5 Thomas Siu: I used to come to Saikee for dim sum all the time, but after seeing their service attitude today, I honestly don’t think I’ll go back again.
When my wife and I walked in, we greeted the boss, but he didn’t respond. Since it wasn’t busy, we just stepped inside and stood there for a moment, trying to make eye contact with the staff. Two staff members walked past us without even looking at us.
Then we saw the manager and said hello. He told us to sit down, so we did. He clearly knew there were two people already waiting, and apart from them, it was just the two of us. Suddenly more people came in. Then we heard the manager calling out numbers — that’s when we realised you needed to take a number. At first we thought since it wasn’t crowded, you could just wait for a table, so we didn’t take a number. The boss didn’t tell us to take one either.
When they called a number, the person asked the manager — who clearly recognised that we were there earlier — what our number was. I said the boss hadn’t given us one. Then they told us, “Then go and get one quickly.”
Honestly, after this experience, I won’t be going back again — even though it’s close to my home. Their service attitude really needs improvement. It wasn’t like this before.
