4 /5 Ayaan: Went to Sehri Antep Baklava and Cakes recently because I was in the mood for something sweet, and honestly it was a really good shout. I didn’t go in with any plan, just wanted a dessert, and ended up picking this cake that had a super soft, layered texture. Hard to explain, but it wasn’t your usual sponge — it had this light, airy feel to it that made each bite way nicer than I expected.
The shop itself has that proper dessert vibe the moment you walk in. You’re hit with the smell of fresh pastries and syrupy baklava, and everything in the display looks dangerous in the best way. The staff were calm and friendly, didn’t rush me at all even though I was clearly taking ages staring at everything trying to decide.
The cake I ended up with was honestly spot on. Sweet but not sickly, soft in the middle, and the layers gave it a nice texture without feeling heavy. It had that kind of taste where you tell yourself you’ll save half for later but then you look down and realise you’ve absolutely cleared the whole thing without even thinking about it.
Overall, Sehri Antep Baklava and Cakes proper impressed me. Good service, loads of tempting desserts, and the one I had was actually really good. Definitely going back to try something else next time I’m in the area.
