4 /5 Milly Georgiou: We visited for Valentine’s Day and overall had a genuinely lovely evening. The atmosphere was warm and romantic, and the setting made the occasion feel special. However, there were a few issues that unfortunately took the shine off what should have been a flawless experience.
While the restaurant is located in Greater London rather than central London, the pricing reflects central London levels. I fully appreciate that high-quality sushi and seafood command premium prices, and we were prepared for that. However, £74 for a single leg of crab felt excessive, even by fine-dining standards. Similarly, the aubergine side dish was £15 for what amounted to half an aubergine, which felt disproportionately priced.
More concerning than the portion size, however, was the quality of the aubergine. The flavour was unpleasant and frankly inedible. We raised this politely with the staff, but the response was limited to a simple “thank you for the feedback.” There was no offer to replace the dish, adjust the bill, or provide an alternative. In a restaurant operating at this price point, I would expect a more proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
Additionally, the duck arrived at the table noticeably cold, which was disappointing given the overall standard the restaurant appears to aim for.
We truly did enjoy many aspects of the evening, and the experience as a whole was positive. However, with a final bill of approximately £350 for two people, expectations are understandably high. At that level, diners anticipate attention to detail, consistency in food quality, and a more responsive approach when something falls short.
A special occasion deserves to feel exceptional from start to finish. While we had a good time overall, these issues left us feeling that the experience didn’t quite match the price point.
