1 /5 Prince B: I had an awful experience here on Valentine’s Day. My date and I were left waiting over 30 minutes outside in the freezing cold before we were even allowed in for our reserved table.
Once seated, things only got worse. We waited an hour for our food, despite being asked twice to confirm our food and drinks order. This clearly highlights serious mismanagement and extremely poor organisation. After that, we then waited another 30 minutes just for our drinks to arrive.
The entire service felt chaotic and badly run. While the waiter who served us did understand our frustration and was polite, this is not the level of service anyone should be treated with especially on Valentine’s Day.
Although our service charge and drinks were eventually removed from the bill, it would have been appropriate and frankly expected for a manager to come over and acknowledge what had happened. The complete lack of any management response after such a shocking experience says a lot.
On top of all of this, I am still waiting for a refund of the deposit I paid for the booking. It was clearly stated in writing that the deposit would be deducted from the final bill, but it wasn’t. When I called a few days later, I was asked for my details and told the refund would be sorted within a few days however, this has still not happened.
To make matters worse, the staff member I spoke to made a completely inappropriate and unprofessional comment, joking that because my name is similar to a footballer’s name, “a footballer wouldn’t be calling up for a £20 refund.” I found this sneaky and disrespectful, especially given that I was simply chasing money that I am rightfully owed.
I genuinely wish I could give this a zero-star review. From the poor organisation and unacceptable delays, to the lack of management accountability and now the unresolved refund, this was a thoroughly disappointing and stressful experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special or well-run dining experience.
