The food and the establishment was excellent. The place felt cosy and most of the staff were friendly and attentive, EXCEPT one particular staff who served us at the beginning, she was blunt and the way she took our order was on borderline being rude. I first noticed it without saying anything, and then my wife said the same to me, which align with my feeling about the initial service. When this staff took our orders individually, she turned to my son and wife and said "and you?". It might sound petty, but it definitely felt as though we were too much hassle for her to attend to. To be honest, I think maybe she is foreign (I have nothing against foreigners as I am not native born in UK), so we didnt really want to make a fuss, or maybe shes just having a bad day. Hence 1 star has been knocked off.
Lets talk about the positives, the establishment was very nice, homely and other staffs were excellent and genuine service with a smile. The food was very good. Weve spent just over £50 a head without any alcohol, which I thought was very reasonable for the quality.
Overall, an excellent place to have a special occasion or your regular theatre night out, that particular staff maybe having a bad night, so it could be a one-off.
