1 /5 Suz B: Had been my favourite throughout 2024/2025 - however ordered 10mins to 9pm 3rd Jan 2026.
Used the A3 set menu, never used before, curry beef, sweet & sour chicken balls and special fried rice.
Curry Beef - warmed with curry poured in the foil tin on top of the beef & onion, meaning the food wasnt prepared together in one pan like usual, thus perhaps just heated in the microwave, but not fully, the food wasnt hot, the beef peices were room temp!!
Rice - appeared the same, when rice is still partially clumped together when reheating
Chicken balls - cooked fresh, meat was hot when chewing, unlike the beef, plus crispy.
Called them as thought it odd, but apparently thats how beef curry is cooked, the curry is poured into the dish afterwards! (Ive ordered many Chinese curry dishes from this restaurant and others over many years), We know thats not how its prepared unless the restaurant cannot be bothered to prep food correctly and perhaps not wanting to use a pan as its one dish towards the end of the night when its perhaps been a quiet night.
Anyway point being, its imperative that meat/food is cooked well and correctly, the food should be fresh not reheated when serving to the public - i dont believe we should be paying for reheated food, if we are, then reheat to piping hot, not luke or room temp thats dangerous, health wise.
The restaurant had nothing further to advise besides thats how they prepare thier food, I wasnt after a refund and advised this, although I should have taken a picture to requested one - we all like to have the odd takeaway however there are times when this experience is ruined due to lack of concern, duty of care - basic food standards, health and safety- do better St. MARYS CHINESE of Oxley, you can make a person poorly through lack of care.
