Mary Cooke Hi, I just wanted to add that the speciality evenings we have really enjoyed, so far have been a great curry evening with so much choice. The other evening we have enjoyed is the superb fish and chips. Massive fish and lovely fat chips. True value for money from a landlady who always greets her guests with a smile. Lovely food and people. Well done Julie and Ian the chef. A pity we missed the Chinese evening but I bet the food was lovely. My husband and I eat here every Sunday. The White Lion is the best of the best. We had Christmas and Boxing day in their excellent company. We felt we were a part of an extended family. Beautiful home cooked food. We cannot fault this family run business. They have had lower class clientele that were abusive. But rubbish always comes to the top of the pond. So ignore negative comments, if they want fast food then they can go elsewhere. This is quality food not junk food.
FEB 14 VALENTINES DAY 2025. WOW!!! Beautiful food and lovely touches with real red roses and heart shaped candles. I just have to show you my pudding. Lovely homemade meringue with that gorgeous chewy bit. Cream islands under all the meringues and huge strawberries. Three flavour meringues, plain, pistachio and raspberry. This was SOOOO good. We so love this place and I really really wanted the Tri of meringues with Chantilly cream again that I had them on the following Sunday. Now with edible flowers and raspberries. Picture added below.

Well, I just had to add another delicious pudding. Sticky Toffee Pudding. Just look at the picture. Lovely homemade caramel and the lightest and most delicious spongy sticky pud going. Rich custard....my diet cannot cope with anything less!!! The little balls on the top are caramel. Just little touches like this and the strawberry take this out of the ordinary in presentation . If you havent tasted this pud then you are denying your tummy of a great experience. Mind you, if you all go there then there may not be enough for me.....mmmm, just me thinking. Too late I have posted.
I just had to show you my pudding favourite for June. Pistachio Meringue with fruits and Chantilly Cream. If nuts are not your thing there is a lemon alternative. This is sheer decadence.
