5 /5 Bex: Im actually quite surprised to report. - Very impressed. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is better than expected and I will return as my experiences have been good. Had breakfast Sunday, and really enjoyed. Had a pizza yesterday and it was great, Id order this again. Husband had a burger which I sampled and liked. (I dont usually appreciate burgers). Deserts are small but proper tasty and everything is reasonably priced. Food and drinks are served super fast. Im now a Weatherspoons convert, we will be back and Im looking forward to my next visit.

5 /5 Kenneth Davidson: A very well presented pub with a grand display of seasonal flowers in full bloom (Sept2024) on front and side the inner court yard. Plenty of seats at rear available when we visited on a Thursday around 2pm. Tables for two along with some booths for 4 along a side wall. The inner courtyard - uncovered - had picnic old style bench seats. The ones where you have to lift your leg over to sit facing table. Alas not suitable for elderly humans like me with hip problems. I could not use! We ordered and paid for at the bar. Our battered cod chips and peas was delivered to our numbered table. It was the best batters cod I’ve had in a long time it was fish shaped (not your usual frozen fish shape) the batter was very crispy and had a great flavour - the chips were very hot and plentiful along with the green peas - first rate. No extra cost for ketchup and condiments. Which you fetched yourself from several stations around the room. Staff were very welcoming and cleared and wiped tables without delay. The overall decor was a bit drab and lighting at the rear near kitchens was poor. Main toilets up stairs (no lift) there is a disabled mixed use toilet on ground floor which is the only customer use level except for toilets. Gents upstairs was spacious with clean soap and electric drier in working order.

5 /5 Neil Hunter: Ive been using The George for years. This is a great Wetherspoons in a great location. All the standard fare on offer of course, but the Real Ales are genuinely excellent. They change a lot due to the demand, and range from very dark Porters to the lightest of Pale Ales. Great to have Thornbridge Jaipur on all of the time now (almost), due to popular demand! They are not only kept at the right temperature but are very well priced, and served perfectly too. Excellent pub. Small beer garden at the rear too. Everyone welcome and all looked after by an exceptional team.

5 /5 K. Peake: This was a superb pub for drinking, incorporating garlands throughout its interior for the Christmas season. The red ceiling is pretty in its own right combined with strips of white, counter is neatly presented with dark black square patterns in the surrounding area! Enjoyed one of the guest ciders and seating is comfortable, table was smooth itself.
