5 /5 Steve Birbeck: Lovely good, friendly staff, very accommodating. We went with our 7 month old grandchild and we asked if we could have the end table so the pushchair could be out of the way. The table wasnt cleared yet, but no problem for them, they cleared it for us. The fish hash portion is huge! The green shakshuka was very nice, with the garlic pita. Would go again.

2 /5 Eliza Welsford: I’d been looking forward to visiting the Good Egg since reading great reviews about the Stoke Newington branch. Sadly we were underwhelmed. The best item was the cornbread though it could have been warmer so that the butter properly melted in. The pickles in the Sabih were too salty and it was smothered in too much sauce - it didn’t taste good. The fries which turned out to be cubed potatoes were clearly reheated and dry. The whipped feta with grapes tasted nice but needed a lot more grapes and some pita to mop it up. We could have made better coffee at home. Service was ok but we found it strange that we were not presented with the bill, just a card machine.

4 /5 Tanya Lake: I stopped at The Good Egg in Walthamstow Village for brunch and had the sabih / sabich pita with smoky aubergine and egg, a brilliant choice. The coffee was smooth, and the garden patio is a lovely spot to relax. Interiors don’t quite suit the cuisine, but the Middle Eastern flavours make it worth visiting.

Famous for their deli, bagels and pizza but you MUST try their dinner deal in the small restaurant inside. £25 a head for an amazing Middle Eastern mezze starter spread, and a main each. Honestly such a bargain for the price and the quality of the food is incredible. We were served by the lovely Gerardo and couldn’t fault our experience. A new regular for us!
