H L-J Ive been eating at Afghan Flavours, Reading for circa 18 months now. I was introduced by my sisters friend and have kept coming back on my own, with a my sister or in small groups.
Its very reliable, tasty, fresh and hot food.
Family friendly. Very reasonably priced for the quality and freshness. You can see the kitchen from the counter too.
Other reviews mentioning service speed need to show some patience. Freshly cooked and prepared food takes time and this is an increasingly popular establishment.
I would describe as cafe style eating.
Whether its the Channa Daal, Houmous, halloumi, chicken byriani, Qabuli chicken/lamb, chicken/lamb charsi karahi, Afghan style red kidney beans, Chaplin kebab paties, chicken or lamb or mixed tikka or lamb kofta - I recommend all.
For drinks would recommend mint or green tea (loose tea) or mango lassi (glass or jug) or a fresh juice.
I prefer to eat in, but take away is also available.
A friendly and hardworking team.
