2 /5 POLA RUIZ: Its an old hotel. There is a pub under the hotel, which makes it extremely noisy. Our room (YOUNG) is above the bar, and we couldnt sleep until the pub closed very late at night (even using earplugs, you could hear the music). The windows are old, and you can hear everything from outside. This hotel is on a very busy street where you can hear a lot of sirens, loud motorcycles, buses, etc. Right below the windows, you have the terrace of the pub where people are screaming, laughing, and drinking until late. Also, you can hear the people walking and talking in the hall, and if someone opens the hot water in the next room, you can hear it too plus the sound of the fridge :/
The second night, we had to call the front desk because we didnt have hot water, and they had to restart the boiler.
I asked twice the front desk to change is to an inner room, and they couldnt help me.
The curtains dont do a great job; they are thick (and very dusty), but from the top side, all the light from the street comes in, to the point that you dont need lights on to see. And the train station is very close, so you can hear that too.
Almost at the end of our stay, when they cleaned the room, they threw away my face wash (I use solid products like solid shampoo, solid conditioner, and solid face soap). I left the face soap on the sink, and when I came back, it wasnt there anymore.
So I do not recommend this place to stay.
The only wonderful thing is the food.
The breakfast! Its really good! We had the opportunity to have dinner too and the food is excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. But unfortunately, it is not a good place to rest, even if you are not a light sleeper. It is hard, or at least in the rooms that are on the street side and on top of the pub.
