JusThai Restaurant & Cocktail Bar Reigate - Surrey
Deborah Bynre It’s great to see Thai food back on form in Reigate with the reopening of JusThai, formerly known as Thai Taste. The previous restaurant was sorely missed locally, so I was eager to try a takeaway and see if the magic was still there , I’m happy to say it absolutely is.
I started with the duck spring rolls, which were excellent. The filling was rich and juicy with plenty of flavour, wrapped in a crisp shell that had clearly been cooked fresh rather than sitting around waiting to be reheated.
For the main, I chose chicken chilli basil with steamed rice. I asked if the kitchen could prepare the chicken in the traditional Thai street-food style , finely chopped and add extra chilli and they were more than happy to accommodate. This attention to authenticity really paid off. The dish had a wonderful balance of heat, savoury depth, and fragrant basil, delivering that unmistakable Thai street-food character.
The steamed rice was also perfectly cooked, light, fluffy, and distinct grain by grain, which is often overlooked but makes all the difference.
Even as a takeaway, the food was still piping hot by the time I got home, which speaks to the care in preparation and packaging. If this meal is anything to go by, JusThai is a very welcome return to the Reigate food scene and one I’m very happy to see back.
