4 /5 Harry Cookson: We ate at the Kingham Plough in a group of four, and overall the experience was a positive one.
Staff were consistently friendly and the dining area has a lovely, cosy feel - exactly what a tourist like myself might hope for from a Cotswolds pub.
The prices for most plates sit significantly above the food price for an average pub, but probably quite in line with popular pubs in the area. I ordered the pork belly starter and venison main - both of which were good choices. The coffee creme brulee was also a nice dessert. My girlfriend ordered from the vegan menu, which was understandably limited; however, even given there were only two "main" options, one was basically just potatoes and the other roasted butternut squash, both at a really high price given what they were. Thats not to say they werent nice (I think the butternut squash was pleasant enough), but it felt like the vegan dishes lacked a little thought and came with a very high price tag for what they were.
I really did like this pub, but the experience varied greatly in our group depending on dietary requirements, so it just falls short of 5 stars.
