To give you some background, I took over the link in November, so this is the first Monday following the festival I’ve experienced. The rush between 7.55am and 8.31am knocked me for 6. On a normal day I usually serve between 15 – 20 customers in the same period, today that number was 63! Which is great for us as a small business but also extremely overwhelming. Your comment about running out of everything is far from the truth. My daily takings and till receipts prove there was stock availability in the shop throughout the day. At 8.51am I served a regular with his usual order of a bacon baguette, which I would not of been able to do, if I had run out of everything!
Looking at my CCTV at the time you have mentioned, I had four women in the shop for 4.5 mins . If memory serves me right the order was 3 iced coffees and Panini’s. Unfortunately, the panini machine is not usually switched on until 11.30am for the lunchtime session.
There was only myself and my wife in at that time. My wife took the day off from her normal day job to give me some much-needed help. I’m sorry you left The Link disappointed; feedback is always welcome. which today has been really positive, apart from your review, im upset you did not give me the opportunity at the time to turn the situation around or find you an alternative. Hopefully when you next visit the island you will pay us another visit and your experience with us, should you choose to give us another go will be a better one.
