4 /5 Neil Bailey: A lovely authentic, traditional pub serving great value pub lunches. I had the fish and chips — perfectly crispy, well-cooked and a generous portion (I couldn’t even finish it!). My partner chose the lamb shank, which was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of creamy mash with a rich, delicious gravy.
The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and service was excellent throughout. It’s great to see The Pied Bull thriving again — it’s changed hands a few times since the pandemic, but it’s most definitely open and doing well. The place was busy with lunchtime trade, and there was even a wake taking place in the separate function room, all handled smoothly by the team.
A proper pub with great food and atmosphere — highly recommended!
