1 /5 Alexandra I: We got the Groupon deal 3 courses for ÂŁ35
The place looked like a school canteen, no atmosphere or character whatsoever. It was empty throughout the dinner (from 8pm on a Saturday).
The food was beyond ordinary – the menu they gave us was laminated (yes, I typed that correct, it was laminated).
The food was no better than stall food, except stalls serve it cheaper and with much more care for quality.
I had the burger - usually when you have a burger you know if you add the condiments, it would be a tad better, sadly that wasn’t the case. If the ketchup was homemade, please, stop making it in house. It had zero zest and flavour. The mayo was also bland, not sure if it was one of those lower fat mayos. And that orangey sauce that came on the plate was flat, no tang, no seasoning, just … empty.
I get that you have too many tourists coming in and going through the hotel, and ultimately it never comes back to bite you, but come on, if you hired a real chef, get him to own it.
I will not be coming to Kingsley Two again, not I shall advise other people to go.
Verdict:
Restaurant >> Honestly, a little effort in the interior design would go a long way — even something simple and cheap could give the place more character.
Food>> Sadly I’d say - hire a new chef. Create a new menu.
Service>> Good
