Food & Drink
Chicken Samosas (£4):
Crisp filo pastry parcels, though not obviously homemade. The accompanying mint dip was very fresh and enjoyable.
Butter Chicken & Pilau Rice (+£2 for upgrade):
The butter chicken’s gravy was underwhelming, with chicken pieces that didn’t quite elevate the dish. For some, it will still be a pleasant option, but it felt like it fell just short of expectations. The pilau rice was fragrant but leaned towards the taste and texture of a Birds Eye frozen rice or a takeaway-style special fried rice.
Mango Lassi (£3.50):
Fresh, creamy, and topped with a delicate sprinkle of saffron — a highlight of the meal.

Ambience & Service
The space is small and intimate, with a cosy, inviting feel. All food is freshly made. The real standout is the customer service — excellent, attentive, and personal. The owner, who is also one of the chefs, was warm and welcoming, which added a lot to the overall dining experience.

✅ Verdict:
The Tiffin Guru delivers fresh food, intimate surroundings, and outstanding service. While the butter chicken and pilau rice didn’t fully impress, the samosas and mango lassi were enjoyable. A solid Highgate spot for those seeking a friendly and personal dining experience.
