5 /5 Sam Chick: It was my mother’s birthday and we had a larger table for 7 adults and 3 kids. The staff were fantastic and we had drinks very quickly. The meals were fantastic. The roasts were 5 stars and the signature burger. I had the steak ale pie and loved it. Need to visit again soon!! Highly recommend for a large group and child friendly. 5 stars!!

5 /5 Derek Golding: I have been here on two consecutive nights now. The food yesterday was the beef and ale pie. That was good but tonight, I had the Signature Burger and that was absolutely superb. I had my burger with mash. Not a chips fan. The rooms are clean and quiet. The beds are comfy. I would highly recommend this place, for the food. But I would also recommend staying overnight. Great find this is. The staff here are very helpful and friendly. They make you feel so welcome after a long day.

5 /5 Gary Crean: Me and the wife decided to go for a evening meal at the wheatsheaf. The food was amazing and fairly priced. The staff were friendly. One thing I would say, it was a cold evening and the place was a little cold, other customers were wearing coats. Would definitely recommend the experience.

5 /5 Nikki C: Service from start to finish was absolutely brilliant. Stopped by at 9.05 on a Thursday for a breakfast but didnt realise they closed the kitchen at 9. Donna kindly sat me down and took my food order straight away so I was able to enjoy one. Just what I needed! Food came out piping hot 5 minutes later and there was also a continental buffet available. Could not thank Donna enough for her kindness!

3 /5 Sarah jane91 B: We didn’t stay in a room but stopped for some late lunch. On arrival we were waiting for quite some time before being allowed to be sat down. The atmosphere was nice and our first server was lovely and kind. The second one was questionable. Looking at the menu it looked quite nice and they also had a GF menu. Great I thought as it’s not always easy to eat out due to this. My partner and I after looking for a while ordered the signature burger which sounds quite fancy right? The price was £17.95 per head so you would expect a decent burger. The Burger came out and was very disappointing to say the least. There wasn’t any sign of a tomato or any kind of relish which made the GF bun especially very dry to eat, I left over half of the bun as it wasn’t great especially as it was toasted. Maybe get some brioche buns for the future or at least put some butter on it? Just a tip. The meat was ok though and not terrible. I asked for some mayo for the chips and it came out in a little pot. I dipped my chip and it had the most weird taste almost an off aftertaste. Stick to Hellmanns I’d suggest. The Drinks were alright I ordered a cocktail but they failed to put the sprig of rosemary in it so kinda lacked the Christmas appeal of the festive specials offered. After a while I heard the waitress ask others how their food was but we were left to just get on. Before we left I had a look about and the lady at the bar said the way out is here. A bit rude I found as we were looking at the Christmas decorations and I also needed to use the toilets before leaving. The actual place inside was very pretty and welcoming shame about the behaviour of some of the staff and the lack of interest in the kitchen. If you were a confident chef you wouldn’t serve that as your signature Burgers that’s all I would say.
