1 /5 IRFAN MEMAN: It was a very disappointing experience as a delivery rider. Unfortunately, I felt that there was very little respect shown towards someone who came to collect an order from the restaurant.
I understand that delivery riders are not employees of the restaurant, but we are still people who are simply doing our job. At the very least, basic politeness and respectful communication should be expected.
When I arrived at the front door, a staff member spoke very rudely and said that I could not come from that entrance and that I had to go back. I politely asked where I should go instead, but the response I received was simply that I could either cancel the order or go back. There was no proper explanation or guidance.
As someone who has worked in hospitality and served as a manager, I understand how important it is to treat people with respect and maintain a positive atmosphere. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that at all.
I have visited other branches, such as the one on Putney High Street, where the staff and atmosphere were excellent and very professional. However, this particular store was the worst experience I have had while picking up orders.
I do not have any personal issue with the restaurant itself, but the behaviour of the staff was extremely disappointing. I will also be reporting this experience to the delivery platforms such as Uber and Deliveroo.
If the owner happens to see this message, I kindly suggest reviewing how staff interact with delivery partners. Respectful communication goes a long way, and it helps maintain a positive reputation for the restaurant.
