The Wallingford Tearoom -

Maki Sekiya A real hidden gem located at the end of labyrinth of corridors and staircases filled with antique items. ( there are two entrances, staircase outside leading from courtyard, or from inside the antique shop arcade). We ordered French toast, BLT toast and salmon-scrambled egg all cooked to perfection. I’d recommend ordering speciality teas with various fantastic flavours. The atmosphere and the calm inside the tearoom is exceptional, instantly transports to another world.

Allen Foster We found this lovely little Italian eatery, only a short walk to the New Theatre. We couldn’t fault the food,, service or the atmosphere. It must be good, as we could see returning customers being greeted and welcomed back by the staff. Well worth a visit and we will return when back in Oxford.

Rah Kumar Delicious place in the covered market for a quick stop for lunch. This place has a homely vibe and can become very busy during lunch periods. Best bet is to get your food, grab a seat, eat and leave. Generous portions for the price and tasty food. Would deffo come back for a quick lunch again!

The White Rabbit - Oxfordshire

Mioma Priora Tucked away in the charmingly narrow Friars Entry, The White Rabbit is a standout pub for its dedicated craft beer selection and playful Alice in Wonderland theme. It’s a cosy, eclectic space filled with curious decor, mismatched furniture, and a genuinely welcoming vibe that appeals to both locals and in-the-know visitors. From my perspective, this is a top choice for a relaxed evening focused on quality drinks. The constantly rotating taps showcase excellent local and national craft ales, making it a destination for beer enthusiasts. The food menu complements this perfectly, focusing on hearty, shareable pub classics with a gourmet twist. While the burgers are solid, the standout is their sourdough pizza. The dough is fermented in-house, giving it a fantastic texture, and the topping combinations are creative yet balanced. The ‘Fun-Guy’ (wild mushrooms, truffle oil, and garlic) is a particular highlight. The loaded fries (try the ‘Dirty Fries’ with cheese, bacon, and jalapeños) also make for a perfect beer-sharing snack. Portions are generous, so consider sharing a pizza and a side. Go in the late afternoon or early evening to secure a table in the quirky, cave-like back room. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to guide your beer choice to pair with your food. Don’t come for a quiet, historic pub experience—come for vibrant atmosphere, excellent modern pub fare, and some of the best craft beer in central Oxford. It’s a wonderfully whimsical and satisfying escape.

Dominique West Lily is so lovely and so are her staff. We have always had the yummiest food here ever since moving here (2 years ago). This is our go-to place as the food is always incredible and is something we look forward to every weekend (and the inbetween!) ◡̈ we’ve also bought some really awesome books from here which is a bonus!

Phil Dinsdale I have never had anything but a good Thai meal. Last night I had the pleasure of a Jungle Curry, which I have had at other venues and very good but the one here was absolutely top notch. I had the curry with ginger rice and prawns. The prawns were king prawns and there were plenty. I was with family who have eaten here quite often and if I visit Wallingford again a repeat of last night will be a must. Everything was excellent.
