1 /5 Raisha Choudhury: I am writing this review to warn other couples and event bookers.
We booked this venue for our wedding and have recently discovered — through public notices — that the premises is in the process of being shut down following a licence review by Havering Council. This information was never disclosed to us at any point, despite the venue continuing to promote and confirm bookings.
When we confronted the owner, we were told it was “just an alcohol licence issue.” However, publicly available reports from Havering Council state that the review relates to serious matters, including immigration offences. It has also been publicly reported that the Home Office issued a significant fine, which has been passed to debt recovery. The council has even placed official notice boards on the venue gates informing the public that suspension action is pending.
We only found out because of these public notices — not because the venue was transparent with us. As a couple preparing for our wedding day, this has caused immense stress and heartbreak. Even after raising our concerns, the owner took no accountability and offered no apology.
I strongly urge anyone considering booking any venue to carry out thorough checks and proceed with extreme caution. Transparency and honesty are the bare minimum when people are trusting you with one of the most important days of their lives.
Havering council have also published that they are conducting modern day slavery by paying below minimum wage and putting an employee to sleep in the outside storage room shed. Just read the report published online.
