5 /5 Marie Pace: Second lunch trip for me, with different friends this time. Last week, wed had the place nearly to ourselves, today, it got jam-packed! Clearly, the Friday crowd knew where to come! :)
I nearly dont want to leave a glowing review, because I want to keep this place to myself and a select friends!
But that wouldnt be fair to the lovely owners, so here goes:
Siam Town is one of those tiny eateries thatll fit maybe 30 people; its got charity shop decor on the walls, nothing fancy or snobby there. But who cares?
Because the food is just so good; simple, fresh, honest Thai food. If you want your carrots delicately cut in the shape of a rose or radishes like opening petals, forget it.
The menu is also pared down: for lunch, you can have green or red curry, massaman or panang, with steamed rice, or a stir-fry with ginger and onion, or basil leaves, and oyster sauce, I think; with vegetable, chicken or beef.
3 of us had a starter and the main, plus a can of soft drink each (no alcohol on the premises, btw! but you can bring your own, apparently). Total cost? Under £35. I mean! It would cost more to cook that at home, and a) it wouldnt taste as good, b) youd still have to do the washing-up! :D
