3 /5 Emma Page: Not a good table! It was good in that the food is good and the service was attentive. However I booked a week ahead and confirmed the day before only to be seated on a squished table for 2 opposite the gents toilet. Other, nicer, tables were free the whole time we were there. So no benefit to booking in advance…better to just turn up and choose your own table. The waitress also took my wine glass before I had finished (I only had one as was driving) even though we called out…she didn’t hear us. We decided to move to another pub. I don’t want to complain and kill the vibe or be difficult (ask to move tables etc) and I always pay the service charge. I would just consider these things when looking for a Sunday lunch venue in the future.

5 /5 James Perkins: I recently visited for supper and absolutely loved the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere of the pub. I chose the burger, which was genuinely delicious and beautifully cooked. The staff couldn’t have been better. The only, very minor, downside was the lack of cask ale options, but that’s purely personal, as I’m a sucker for a Sussex Best. Overall, it was a fantastic visit and I’ll definitely be returning once they sort out the lack of Ales!

3 /5 Chris Wellington: The Sunday Roast was amazing and great value for money. Particularly the meats were high quality. Such a nice London pub that could be improved by the service. I tried to make a reservation for 1:00 pm but was offered 12:00 instead which is no big deal. Although I really don’t know why the staff have to say “We need the table back by 1:30” , it’s very annoying and an unprofessional and unwelcoming attitude in the hospitality business. Particularly as the next “reservation” according to the sign was for 3:00 pm and not for 1:30 anyway. At the end of the meal we were well fed and couldn’t manage a dessert which I think would probably be pretty good considering the high standard of the mains. We asked for Irish coffee and were told that the pub doesn’t do hot drinks? A pub not doing hot drinks? All in all the service wasn’t great but the food was amazing.

5 /5 Philip Strawford: We went here for lunch before a festival at Victoria park. Staff are very attentive, food is of a very good standard and plenty to choose from at the bar. They specialise in handmade scotch eggs which are awesome. Highly recommend this place.
