The Pied Bull - (Near Enfield, South East)

4 /5 Neil Bailey: A lovely authentic, traditional pub serving great value pub lunches. I had the fish and chips — perfectly crispy, well-cooked and a generous portion (I couldn’t even finish it!). My partner chose the lamb shank, which was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of creamy mash with a rich, delicious gravy. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and service was excellent throughout. It’s great to see The Pied Bull thriving again — it’s changed hands a few times since the pandemic, but it’s most definitely open and doing well. The place was busy with lunchtime trade, and there was even a wake taking place in the separate function room, all handled smoothly by the team. A proper pub with great food and atmosphere — highly recommended!

5 /5 Kevin Barry: Just had time to pop in and have a quick beer - nice atmosphere. Seemed quite as the bar had just opened. Need to get back and try the food. Barman was a nice chap also.

1 /5 Loveday emma (LadyLoveOG): What has happened to this pub! Just had possibly the worst pub roast ever (including Wetherspoons). Waitress couldn’t tell the difference between the roast beef and the roast lamb because the meat was so overdone they were both dry and crusty. Burnt yorkshires and numbs of left over roast potatoes (apparently they had a large party before…) . When sent back for replacements I was served the same burnt Yorkshire and given two boiled potatoes- with no explanation or apologies as if I would t notice! Meat inedible and deceiving customers is unacceptable. Tables not cleaned. Sat with starters without cutlery for 5 minutes. Manager “daisy” was passive aggressive polite but no acknowledgment that we had had a bad experience or even offered a complimentary coffee. Seems like very inexperienced staff and management now ruining a beloved pub in Enfield. Go to the plough instead!

5 /5 Harry Sykes: I went to The Pied Bull with my girlfriend and her sister and parents and I couldn’t fault it one bit. I ordered the chicken burger with chips while my girlfriend had the steak pie which was cooked to perfection. Proper pub food for offer that were reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and welcoming to us, especially Daisy as she was our waitress throughout our time there. The whole place was really clean and cosy with classic 80’s and 90’s music that fit the vibe they’re going for. Great food and lovely atmosphere! Will definitely be coming back again soon!
