The Rock Lodge - (Near Kent, South East)

5 /5 Julie-Anne Clements: I booked a table upstairs for Sunday lunch over the bank holiday weekend for 5 ladies celebrating a birthday. The food was fantastic, it came out quickly, was beautifully cooked and the presentation was great. 4 of us had the roast beef and 1 had the roasted butternut squash and we shared side dishes of cauliflower cheese. All of the food was outstanding. The staff were lovely, really friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed the music playing, the decor and general atmosphere. We are not local and were staying in the area and had booked The Rock Lodge based on a Google and Trip Advisor search. We highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely visit again when in the area.

5 /5 Dan: Absolutely amazing service!!! Didn’t catch the guy’s name but he was on his own Friday lunch time and was fantastic! Food …. Chicken and waffles had me straight away and did not disappoint. Brilliant venue, brilliant team and amazing food! Well worth a visit!!

2 /5 Daniel Miller: I was really looking forward to coming here as had good reviews and looked like it had a good atmosphere. I came for a meal last night and the positives were that the staff are very friendly and attentive, and downstairs the bar area looks like it has a good atmosphere. Ive read other reviews and I had the same experience with the menu, the menu is different to the online menu so I thought there was only 4 choices of mains but after ordering realized there is a big chalkboard in a location where not everyone dining could see it in the restaurant, not mentioned by the serving staff and they do serve more food than on the menu but by then it was too late. The food was unbelievably salty, really over seasoned. To the point where you have a dry mouth eating it which was really disappointing. And my wife ordered the pork tomahawk which was really overcooked, burnt on one side. Where the price point is fairly high you expect things to be bang on. Our meal cost £124 which for that price I was expecting to walk away thinking, that was great, we will definitely be back. Unfortunately came away feeling really underwhelmed, unhappy and with a feeling that I would definitely come back here for a drink in the bar but would never dine here again or recommend this restaurant to anybody. I hate giving bad reviews but unfortunately you could go here, spend a fair bit of money and come away with the same feeling, so always good to warn people.

4 /5 Tom Khan-Lavin: Super impressed with the roasts and general quality of the food. Super dog friendly, even serving our doggo his own roast dinner in a bowl. Legends. The alpine theme isnt our thing but its much nicer inside than it looks from the outside, plus the excellent service and quality food will bring us back again.

3 /5 Kas M: The rock lodge has a truly superb, unique look- its unlike any other restaurant. The service was friendly and the prices are ok. However, my experience had a rocky start: I checked the menu online and was excited about a specific dish, but the printed menu was different and my choice wasnt available. After finally choosing something new, the food itself was just good, not "wow." I was disappointed, especially after all the positive reviews. My meal had clear issues: the rosemary fries lacked rosemary flavor, and the cheese in burger was completely unmelted. After trying rosemary ice cream in shop nearby I was ready for another rosemary bomb but left little disappointed. The lunch menu was looking great,but it was only till 4pm. I’m sure there’s plenty other good food that you can try. Maybe I was just unlucky this time.
