The Stag on the River - (Near Surrey, South East)

1 /5 Nicola Graham: Party of 4 adults and 2 young children for Sunday lunch menu on Sunday evening. . Very disappointing food. Lamb was chewy and very pink. Vegetables were cold. Cauliflower cheese was very strong tasting of mustard. Roast potatoes were unappetising. Chicken in the childrens meal was also disappointing. At £24 per person expected far better quality than this.

5 /5 Samuel Eyre: If you are looking for a relaxing break this is the place. We went for valentines weekend and were instantly able to switch off from our busy lives in London. Matt and the team went above and beyond to help us feel settled. Rooms are incredibly cosy bed very comfortable and food out of this world. Recommend sticky toffee pudding. Loads of great walks nearby as well. Thank you stag on the river we will be coming back

5 /5 g oliver: Four of us had lunch on Friday 6th March. My main: Rabbit pie was first class! And the Cheesecake pudding was also terrific. Best meal I’ve had for a long time. I’ve never posted a review before - but this was exceptional. Well done!

5 /5 Pieter Tritton: I had a fantastic 5 day stay at The Stag on The River near Milford, Surrey. The room was spacious with an excellent bed and mattress with lovely cotton sheets and down filled pillows and cushions that you just sunk into. Lovely collection of teas and coffees in the room. Bathroom was fine with lovely soft towels and plentiful toiletries. The restaurant was full every night of the week which is understandable given the very high quality food being produced in the kitchen. And my compliments to the chef for making my stay away from home even more enjoyable. I cant say enough about the food it really is excellent. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. I felt very much at home next to the river staying at The Stag on The River so a big thank you for a great stay and Ill definitely be back.

3 /5 Matt Anderson: The service was good and there was a nice range of meals on the menu. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the fish pie. There was very little fish in the dish, and the potato topping was quite watery, which didn’t feel good value for the price. That said, I would return, but I would definitely avoid the fish pie and hope that my next choice would be better.
