5 /5 Chris Carr: Great traditional pub /restaurant right on the seafront! Plenty of seating inside and out, however expect to queue for a table in the summer months as it is extremely popular. (Tables only book able in the ‘off’ season) Great menu, which never disappoints - don’t forget to check the specials board!! Good selection of beers and ciders to accommodate all tastes. Very friendly staff. Food/drinks are order at the bar.

4 /5 Peter Harris: Not the easiest place if you have a pram or wheelchair. We carried our pram up the steps to the main entrance only to find it wouldn’t fit through the narrow door. The barman came over and opened the second door so we could get in, but his first comment was that we could have used the side door. As it was our first time visiting, that came across a little condescending. There was also no sign for a side entrance, and when we later saw it, it appeared to actually be a fire exit leading to an area where empty beer kegs are stored. Inside, the space is quite tight. We had a pram and two dogs, so room was limited, but luckily the table next to us was free which made things easier. The food was decent — I had the fish and chips and enjoyed it. The décor is lovely and really captures the feel of a traditional seaside pub, and the view is fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxed and it was fairly quiet when we visited. Overall, I’d still recommend it for the food, atmosphere and amazing view, but accessibility could definitely be improved.

5 /5 Tamsin Turner: This is a review for food only as we didnt stay here. However, the food was so good, we ate here two nights in a row. I had the best fish and chips Ive had in ages. The fish was light and really fresh and the batter was super crisp. On the second visit I had the fish pie which was also delicious. My husband had the fish and chips two nights in a row and said they were just as good the second night. I made a mistake on the order on the first night and the waitress sorted it out really quickly. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

5 /5 Richard J: Great staff, food and pub. Stayed here a couple of nights. Greeted by a lovely warm lively atmospheric pub on a freezing winters day. Room was basic but clean and was initially cold but the manager (went the extra mile) quickly sorted a fan heater for us and problem solved. The food is also very good, plentiful and many options including the cooked breakfast . The Steamer has a lovely vibe and welcoming atmosphere. Easy parking on the prom albeit was quiet in January. Thank you for a lovely stay and ferry concession !

3 /5 Linda Berry: The food is very good. I would recommend this place. The only negative is when you want a tea they ration the sugar and even when you ask for more they still don’t give you enough. Make’s me feel like bringing my own sugar!!!
