5 /5 Jayco: Founded c.1147 (12th Century) and disbanded late 1535, Snelshall Priory is an important part of local history and well worth a read up on. Although there’s not much to see, the earthworks and moat are still visible and the site has been declared a monument given the historical importance. A few ancient trees remain also. Easily accessible as forms part of the Milton Keynes boundary and North Buckingham walks. Just watch out for sheep poo and avoid night-time visits as the surrounding bridle ways are often used as a racetrack by idiots on stolen motorcycles.
