H L-J Ive been eating at Afghan Flavours, Reading for circa 18 months now. I was introduced by my sisters friend and have kept coming back on my own, with a my sister or in small groups. Its very reliable, tasty, fresh and hot food. Family friendly. Very reasonably priced for the quality and freshness. You can see the kitchen from the counter too. Other reviews mentioning service speed need to show some patience. Freshly cooked and prepared food takes time and this is an increasingly popular establishment. I would describe as cafe style eating. Whether its the Channa Daal, Houmous, halloumi, chicken byriani, Qabuli chicken/lamb, chicken/lamb charsi karahi, Afghan style red kidney beans, Chaplin kebab paties, chicken or lamb or mixed tikka or lamb kofta - I recommend all. For drinks would recommend mint or green tea (loose tea) or mango lassi (glass or jug) or a fresh juice. I prefer to eat in, but take away is also available. A friendly and hardworking team. ilana Member of staff was great. Cleanliness was not an issue. ONTO THE FOOD: Food was all hot and fresh. The twisted burger was great if you want fried chicken but love the signature peri peri sauce from chicken shops (they also do twisted wings). The regular wings were good, not fatty, not greasy nor the type of wings with a disgusting amount of chicken skin. Although I wish they had a bit more of a kick (but I understand they have to cater to everyone). Thanks very much

Jessica Mei-Yee Tang Fantastic pie shop! I heard about them from my colleagues about how delicious their pies were, and I had to see for myself. I got the Sweeney pastie and steak and ale pie! My husband and I enjoyed both, but the steak and ale pie was his favourite! Full of flavour with perfect pastry! Will be coming back to try the other pies. My only regret is that I havent visited sooner.

Gayathri Gopal I had a wonderful experience at Botanist Reading. The ambience was amazing and the food was really good – the lamb kebab, in particular, was excellent. A special mention to Vivianne, who was very attentive and explained everything in detail, making the experience even better. Great service overall! 5 stars for sure!

AK Hidden gem. The food is delicious and the portions very generous, especially for that price!! The waiter placed our order as soon as we sat down and food arrived within minutes! Lastly the atmosphere is nice and cozy.

Olivia Ong Taste authentic of Vietnamese style. 1. The coconut milk iced coffee is flavorful with well balanced of coffee and the milk. (£5) 2. Crispy Roasted pork rice is good. The pork is tender and juicy . (£13.95) 3. Pho mixed is delicious with good stock. (£15.95) 4. Dry noodle grilled pork. The grilled pork is well marinated and delicious. Love the pickled carrots and raddish in the salad (£13.50)
