5 /5 shahirul bashar: Visited Chipping Wharf today and was genuinely impressed from the moment I walked in. The shop is spotless, beautifully presented, and clearly run with pride and attention to detail. I recognised the brothers from Café East, which is also excellent, so my expectations were already high and they still exceeded them. The food was exceptional and, without exaggeration, this is the best fish and chips I’ve had in East London by far. The cod was incredibly fresh with no unpleasant smell at all, cooked perfectly, and the portion size was very generous. Every sauce was spot on, the homemade tartare sauce was outstanding, the curry sauce is easily the best I’ve had, and even the homemade coleslaw stood out for its quality and flavour. It’s clear these guys really know their craft. True experts who care deeply about quality, consistency, and customer experience. Highly recommended and I’ll definitely be returning.

The service is top notch - professional, friendly and genuinely polite. And don’t skip the curry sauce.. it’s delicious with a nice kick!

From the moment we walked in, we were met with genuine warmth and kindness, the kind that makes you feel less like a customer and more like a welcome guest. The food was outstanding. Perfectly crisp, golden batter that shattered just right, fresh flaky fish inside, and chips that were properly fluffy on the inside with that essential crunch on the outside. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care rather than autopilot. What really sets Chipping Wharf apart, though, is the people. The staff were lovely, attentive without hovering, and clearly proud of what they serve. That combination of great food and sincere hospitality is rare and worth celebrating. If you’re in London and craving proper fish & chips done right, Chipping Wharf isn’t just a safe bet. It’s a place you’ll actively want to come back to.

5 /5 Sophie Baxter: The best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. The cod burger was delicious with a non-greasy cod fillet - topped with cheese. They even threw in some free coleslaw, plus service with a smile. 10/10

5 /5 Wajid Chaudhry: Absolutely delicious fish and chips. The batter was perfectly crisp and light, giving way to soft, delicate, beautifully flaked cod inside. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it and next time I won’t be sharing. The owner was warm, welcoming, and fantastic with the children, which made the whole experience even better. Seating indoors is limited, but they do have a terrace outside. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Victoria Park.
