Carl Jeffrey The rural riverside setting is perfect for anyone who loves countryside walks or fancies hiring a rowing boat to explore the river. I was hiking solo on a multi-day trek from Brighton to Rochester when I came across the Anchor Inn. It was a warm early evening, and as I ordered a refreshing pint in the front bar, the landlord Simon (who had never met me before) immediately noticed my rucksack and said: “If you’re looking for somewhere to pitch your tent tonight, you’re very welcome to use the field behind the pub.” It was such a generous offer that I gladly accepted. I spent the evening enjoying a few pints in the company of Simon and his staff, who made me feel completely at home. I didn’t eat during my stay, though the food looked excellent, but I can vouch for a superb pint of Harvey’s Best Bitter. The following morning, as I was packing up at 8am, Simon even walked over with a cup of tea – an incredibly thoughtful gesture that summed up the hospitality I experienced here. I truly can’t thank Simon and his team enough. The Anchor Inn is a brilliant riverside pub, and I’ll definitely be returning with friends. Highly recommended!

Emeka Bokolo The All Tribe African restaurant is a premier destination for indulging in the flavors of Nigerian cuisine. Their dishes are reminiscent of home-cooked meals from Grandma’s kitchen, delivering an authentic and delightful experience. The food at this restaurant is truly remarkable, leaving diners thoroughly satisfied.

Max Ball Really tasty meal, so much variety in all the flavours. Gozleme was delicious! The best hosts and a lovely calm atmosphere. Really glad to have been here and can’t wait to return!!

Pam Probably the best pho I’ve ever had! The monkfish pho came with a rich seafood broth infused with tomato, a hint of chilli, and Vietnamese fish sauce. The monkfish was perfectly fried and soaked up the broth beautifully — every bite felt like a harmony of flavours. We also tried the chicken pho, made with the vegetarian broth (you can also choose beef). The soup was wonderfully seasoned with layers of vegetable flavours that made it incredibly comforting and flavourful. The restaurant has two floors and is usually packed during meal times. Seating is quite close together, so it can get a bit noisy. The lower ground floor is less ventilated, so if you arrive early, I recommend sitting on the ground floor. Overall, the food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be coming back! P.S. Prices do not include service charge.
