Jessica Mei-Yee Tang Fantastic pie shop! I heard about them from my colleagues about how delicious their pies were, and I had to see for myself. I got the Sweeney pastie and steak and ale pie! My husband and I enjoyed both, but the steak and ale pie was his favourite! Full of flavour with perfect pastry! Will be coming back to try the other pies. My only regret is that I havent visited sooner.

All different aspects of the menu are excellent, so whatever your preference is they’ve got it covered. Service is always prompt and deliveries on time. Simply cannot recommend enough.

H L-J Ive been eating at Afghan Flavours, Reading for circa 18 months now. I was introduced by my sisters friend and have kept coming back on my own, with a my sister or in small groups. Its very reliable, tasty, fresh and hot food. Family friendly. Very reasonably priced for the quality and freshness. You can see the kitchen from the counter too. Other reviews mentioning service speed need to show some patience. Freshly cooked and prepared food takes time and this is an increasingly popular establishment. I would describe as cafe style eating. Whether its the Channa Daal, Houmous, halloumi, chicken byriani, Qabuli chicken/lamb, chicken/lamb charsi karahi, Afghan style red kidney beans, Chaplin kebab paties, chicken or lamb or mixed tikka or lamb kofta - I recommend all. For drinks would recommend mint or green tea (loose tea) or mango lassi (glass or jug) or a fresh juice. I prefer to eat in, but take away is also available. A friendly and hardworking team. Karen Tan Brought our Jack Russell with us as we walked around the salt marshes and stopped for dinner (we booked a table earlier as there’s limited seating with dogs). She took a nap while we ate. Hubby had white bait for starters and it was delish while I just opted for mains - scallops which our friendly server recommended - while he had sea bass. We will definitely be returning! Excellent service.
